The medical content in all Big Texas CPR courses are consistent with the latest CPR, AED and first aid guidelines, to reflect the 2015 ILCOR Consensus Guidelines for CPR and ECC. All Big Texas CPR courses meet or exceed the medical objectives of similar training programs, to include those released by the American Heart Association.


The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to the Association.

ECSI Classroom Options 



Standard First Aid - with Adult, Child, Infant CPR/AED  

  •  $75 per student for classroom education. Each student will be provided a classroom book with the option of receiving an E-Book upon request. The ECSI  Standard First Aid - with Adult, Child, Infant CPR / AED Class is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in First Aid, CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. Training will include: Coverage of the most current CPR and ECC Guidelines: Clear, concise direction on how to perform CPR for Adult, Children and Infants, and use an AED during an emergency. Current information on injuries and illnesses: Core information for first aiders presented in a clear and straightforward format. New and updated content on the use of hemostatic dressings, application of tourniquets, administering epinephrine, dental care, and more. Class takes approximately 4.5 hours to complete, including skills practice and skills testing. Class time based on 1 instructor: 6 students: 2 manikins.   • Adult, Child, Infant CPR with AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

    • $50 per student for classroom education. Each student will be provided a classroom book with the option of receiving an E-Book upon request. The ECSI Adult, Child, Infant CPR with AED Class is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in First Aid, CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. Training will include: Coverage of the most current CPR and ECC Guidelines: Clear, concise direction on how to perform CPR for Adult, Children and Infants, and use an AED during an emergency. Class takes approximately 3 hours to complete, including skills practice and skills testing. Class time based on 1 instructor: 6 students: 2 manikins. Certification is good for 2 years.   • Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) - OSHA standards course

    • $30 per student for classroom education. Each student will be provided a classroom book with the option of receiving an E-Book upon request. Over five million workers in health care related fields are at risk to exposure to bloodborne pathogens, such as the HIV virus and hepatitis B virus. Our class is designed to meet the current Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training requirements. The class is designed to teach students and employees how to prepare for potential occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens. The book also includes supplemental information on airborne pathogens, such as tuberculosis, and other unusual infectious diseases. Class takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete. Class time based on 1 instructor: 6 students. Certification is good for 1 year. Cards issued after class.   • Wilderness First Aid (16 hour course for Boy Scouts of America)

    • $125 per student for classroom education. $150 with CPR-AED. The Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) is pleased to be recognized by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) as an approved CPR/AED and Wilderness First Aid training provider. Class book is included in price and provided prior to class. The Scout Oath instills in youth that, "On my honor I will do my best … to help other people at all times." Emergency care is no exception. Big Texas CPR provides training to teach Boy Scouts of America members how to provide life-saving care in the event of an emergency, within a Wilderness Environment. CPR is not a normal part of this training. Wilderness first aid (WFA) is a class for everyone planning a remote high adventure ranging from lay responders to medical professionals.  It focuses on prevention, assessment, and treatment for an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care by a physician and/or rapid transport is not readily available. This is defined as being an hour or more away from advanced care. Length: This is a 16 hour class (18 hours if CPR/AED is included). Class will be scheduled over a 2, 3, or 4 day period (we are flexible). Certification is good for 2 years. Cards issued after class.. Cards issued after class.
