The Emergency Care & Safety Institute (ECSI) is pleased to be recognized by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) as an approved CPR/AED and Wilderness First Aid training provider.

The Scout Oath instills in youth that, "On my honor I will do my best … to help other people at all times." Emergency care is no exception.

Big Texas CPR provides training to teach Boy Scouts of America members how to provide life-saving care in the event of an emergency, within a Wilderness Environment. CPR is not a normal part of this training.

Wilderness first aid (WFA) is a course for everyone planning a remote high adventure ranging from lay responders to medical professionals.  It focuses on prevention, assessment, and treatment for an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care by a physician and/or rapid transport is not readily available. This is defined as being an hour or more away from advanced care.

Length: This is a 16 hour course (18 hours if CPR/AED is included). Course will be scheduled over a 2, 3, or 4 day period (we are flexible).

Certification is good for 2 years. Cards issued after class.

Our goal is simple: To provide quality, affordable education to students in need of learning life-saving skills.
